Ethics mean a person’s code of conduct, moral value and beliefs which affects a person’s behavior in the society i.e. the overall character of a person. Professionalism is an individual style a person pursues towards his career that distinguishes him from the other amateurs.
Now relating ethics with professionalism one can say that they are surely inter-related and ethics has great influence and authority over professionalism. Without good conduct it is impossible for a professional to excel in his or her line of work. Not only will bad ethical behavior not help one’s career evolve and progress but it will also downgrade it. For example no one would like to do business or any sort of dealing with a person who is renowned for being fraudulent and deceiving no matter how much professional he is in his work. His ethical behavior would devalue his professionalism.
Thus in my opinion the ethics of a person can make or break their career.
